Big Block Chevy Exhaust O-Ring Groove Cutter

Stop fighting exhaust gaskets. This bolt-on manual groove cutter allows you to cut O-ring grooves directly into your Big Block Chevy cylinder heads without sending them out to a machine shop.

The fixture bolts to the exhaust flange bolt holes and uses a 3/4" socket and ratchet to manually cut a clean, repeatable 1/8” wide groove for reusable high-temperature Viton O-rings.

Designed for you to choose between 2-5/8" and 2-3/4" exhaust O-rings.

How It Works

1. Bolt the outer fixture to the cylinder head using the exhaust flange bolt holes.
2. Install the inner rotating cutter and apply lubricant through the oil port.
3. Rotate the cutter with a 3/4" socket and ratchet for several revolutions.
4. Lower the set screw a small amount and repeat the cutting process.
5. Check the groove depth frequently using the inspection hole.

Recommended final groove depth: roughly 0.100”

Take your time and check the depth often. It is much easier to make another cutting pass than to repair a groove that has been cut too deep.
